British
native beef breeds, Welsh Blacks and South Devons are raised
naturally on the medows and moorlands of Devon, feeding on all
the grasses and other vegetation they need to reach a state of
perfect health. All our cattle are reared by the traditional grazing
method, bringing
high grade beef slowly to maturity and producing a flavour and
texture that intensive farming cannot possibly emulate.
Animals are slow grown and calves remain suckling
for a natural span of 8-10 months. They never receive routine antibiotics
or growth-promoting hormones.
Our animals grow to maturity before
being slaughtered locally and humanely. The meat is hung for up
to 4 weeks, producing the tenderest
beef
imaginable - which cooks quickly and hardly shrinks at all.
